When I say I was SO pleased with my visit, I mean my experience EXCEEDED my expectations! The staff was ever so friendly! And welcoming! The food was SOOOO good! Ms Sheila’s GRITS!!! We’re some of the best I’ve ever had! I was thinking about them grits days after returning home to DC! I wish I asked the gentleman’s name but he made me feel like I wanted to name him Uncle Frank! LOL! But I really appreciate for answering the phone and telling us that they would be waiting for us although we would be arriving JUST before their closing time! And to put a cherry on top we met Ice Cole, a famous boxer! Thank you Ms. Sheila and Fam!! For taking care of my family and I! We will be back to see you guys soon!!

Came to NJ from AZ to see my father today and stopped at this amazing restaurant for breakfast. Food was amazing, owners were friendly, and would suggest anyone looking for a filling / delicious meal to come check this place out!

This place is amazing! It feels like home. From the welcoming staff, the ambiance, music, and, of course, Ms. Sheila's delicious cooking, everything was perfect. Everyone, including the owner, made sure that we had a wonderful experience. I will definitely return when I travel back to New Jersey.

We just stopped in here for breakfast because we saw they had salmon patties. We’re from the South Carolina and very particular about grits. The food here was so good and the grits were well cooked and creamy, the salmon patties were good also. My husband had the corn beef hash and thoroughly enjoyed it. We HIGHLY recommend this spot. The service was great as well. Welcoming, friendly and professional. If we’re ever back in the area, we will visit again!

While visiting Newark all the way from Texas, we stopped by Mr. Burgandy’s Breakfast Luncheonette—and WOW, we’re so glad we did! The food was absolutely amazing. The grits were hands down the best we’ve ever had—creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The breakfast croissant was also incredible, packed with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. The service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home even though we were far from it. We’ll definitely be coming back every time we’re in town. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast in Newark! PS- the UPTOWN drink is a must try
